Day- 01
Arrival New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri and Transfer to Phuentsholling - On arrival at Phuntshelling you will be guided by our representative for checking in Hotel – Phuentsholling is frontier town Bhutan - The town of is the gateway for travelers entering Bhutan by road - Indian side of the border is Jaigaon - A thriving commercial centre on the northern edge of the Indian plains of West Bengal & southern Bhutan - a town at the foot hill of Himalayan range - fascinating mixture of Indian and Bhutanese culture and mingling of people is found here – If time permits one can visit Zangtho Pelri in city centre – a small temple represents the heaven of Guru Rinpoche - Later explore Phuentsholing town and market - Overnight at Phuentsholling hotel
Day- 02
Permit to be obtained and Transfer to Thimpu - After breakfast start with the pass formalities (biometric nowadays), embark on an interesting journey to Thimphu – at an altude of 2320 meter and 6-6.5 hours journey - The capital town of Bhutan - perhaps the only capital city without traffic light - enroute visit Kharbandi Gompa founded in 1967 by Royal Grandmother Ashi Phuntsho Choedron - Statues of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and Guru Rimpoche along with paintings portraying scenes from the life of Lord Buddha is seen here - The monastery garden provides great views of the Phuentsholing town and surrounding plains of West Bengal – under stimulating economic activities between India & Bhutan Thimpu highway was built in 1961- Drive along and stop at Gedu University for some snaps resume your journey through Chimakothi and Chuzom - the confluence of Paro & Thimphu rivers – check into Thimpu the hotel – Thimphu is the centre of religion and commerce of Government - Mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions makes the city unique. Situated in western Bhutan, with the population of around 1,05,000 – Evening acclimatization an exploratory roam around Thimphu city centre – Night stay at Thimpu hotel
Day- 03
Thimpu Local Sightseeing – Early morning breakfast - Visit to the National Memorial Chorten built in honour of our late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk and the Dupthop Lhakhang – One can visit the National Library, stocked with ancient Buddhist manuscripts, and the Painting School where traditional art is still kept alive through instructions in the art of painting Thangkas - After lunch visit Traditional Medicine Institute and to Lungtenzampa - Visit to the Tashichho Dzong, seat of the national government and the Central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo - The Tashichho Dzong is open to visitors only in winter when the Je Khenpo and the monks move to Punakha the ancient winter capital of Bhutan - Drive to Simtokha Dzong and visit the Handicrafts emporium followed by shopping for souvenirs - Over night stay in Thimphu

Punakha and Dochu La Pass Excursion (2250 meters / 7382 feet): Drive is 4 hours /130 kilometers - Punakha is situated at an elevation of 1300 meters / 4265 feet - Punakha is the winter seat of Je Khenpo (the chief abbot) - Its natural drainage from Pho Chhu (male) and Mo Chhu (female) rivers - It offers splendid views of the distant Himalayas at Dochula Pass situated at an elevation of 3050 meters / 10065 feet on Thimphu – Punakha road - The pass is also popular spiritual place for both locals and tourists because of an important temple that is located on the crest of Dochula pass - Visit Punakha Dzong - Punakha Dzong was strategically built at the confluence of the Pho Chu (male) and Mo Chu (female) rivers by the first Shabdrung of Bhutan, Ngawang Namgyel in 1637 – Drive back to reach Thimpu - Check into your hotel on arrival - Overnight stay at hotel in Thimphu
Day- 04
Transfer from Thimphu to Phuentsholing - After breakfast drive back to Phuentsholing - around 175 kilometer and 6.5 hours drive - On the way back visit Tschogang Lhakhang of 15th century said to be Temple of the excellent horse - Further after a prolonged drive stop at Chukhha Hydroelectricity project view point where the power is generated by tapping the fast running river, formed by the confluence of the Wang chu and Paa chu rivers - Phuentsholing comes under Chhukha district and the region is boosted by both hydropower projects - Arrive Phuentsholing by late afternoon and drive further 04 - 05 hours through Dooars i.e. the foothills of Himalaya to reach New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri
